Regional Director for Freedom Spas
Shawn Hallum is the Regional Director for Freedom Spas, operator of eleven resort-based spas across the island chain. He is a certified & credentialed professional coach (CPC, ACC) & Energy Leadership Master Practitioner (ELI-MP). He has been an established & passionate member of the hospitality & spa communities since 1995 and has served in regional, national, & international leadership roles for globally recognized brands. Shawn also serves as a professor for American College of Healthcare Sciences, where he teaches courses in coaching, communication, & spa operations management.
Academically, Shawn holds a master’s degree in complementary alternative medicine (MS-CAM) and undergraduate degrees in Sports Management (BS, Wellness) & Business Administration (AS, Business). Professionally, Shawn specializes in individual and team coaching, 360-attitudinal assessments, & leadership optimization strategy.

New to the Hi-Spa board coming in 2019, Jennifer brings 10 years of experience in the spa and wellness industry. Holding licenses as both a massage therapist and esthetician, Jennifer’s passion for health and wellness began with a private practice that transitioned into hospitality and spa management with Marriott and Ritz-Carlton where she sat on the advisory board overseeing several West Coast properties. She has been fortunate enough to open numerous new spas across the country and lead teams in beautiful destinations such as Denver CO and Lake Tahoe CA before calling Maui home in 2016.

Regional Vice President of Resort Operations at Mandara Spa, Hilton Hawaiian Village
Darryl Leiman boasts over 27 years of spa experience, beginning his journey within the spa industry at the Golden Door Health Resort in Escondido, California. He became the Director of Golden Door Spa at Sea, and after five years decided to make his way to Maui, Hawaii, opening the famous Spa Grande as Spa Director at the Grand Wailea Resort, called the Grand Hyatt Wailea at the time.
Darryll Leiman would later find himself moving onto the Mandara Spa, then Canyon Ranch, finally returning to Mandara Spa as the Regional Vice President, where he continues today in Honolulu, HI.

Amanda Schmiege has managed a diverse portfolio of salons, spas & recreation facilities in various markets from Chicago, Orlando, New York, and Dubai, working in both luxury hotel environments as well as day spas and salons. Along with working for many iconic wellness brands, she also served as the Marriott Spa Council leader supporting an additional 15 spas in the Dubai and Abu Dhabi region. Amanda studied at the University of Michigan with a focus in organizational behavior, also completing studies abroad at the University College of London. Amanda is particularly excited to be in Hawaii and seeks to help deliver the true healing of this place to others.

Cecilia was a founding board member and former Hi-Spa President, and has an extensive background in spa management & hospitality operations. She brings over 25 years of experience in resort & spa openings, both nationally & internationally, and is also certified by the Global College of Natural Medicine as a Nutritionist Consultant. Cecilia has directed & operated spas of every size & age and has a well-rounded approach to all aspects within the spa industry. Cecilia owned Olavine Spa & Salon and was also Managing Director of C-Spa Consulting.
Freelance Designer & Artist
With a BFA in Media Arts under her belt, Sasha does everything from building and maintaining the current Hi-Spa website, to beautifying newsletters, formatting our email campaigns and creating our visual marketing content. She continues to provide aesthetic input and service all of Hi-Spa’s technological needs. While being a Freelance Artist/Designer, Sasha is no stranger to the Spa & Wellness industry, having provided artistic services to companies like Olavine Spa, Noel Asmar and HAIA Wellness.
Founder and WELLth Coach at TPO Coaching & Consulting
Sharon was a founding board member and former Hi-Spa President, and now continues to support the wellness industry in Hawaii as part of the Advisory Board. With a Bachelors in Economics, Life Coach certification training and through the use of tools such as Love Languages, DISC & CMA she is able to provide a powerful platform for self-awareness and transformation for her clients. She specializes in personal and professional optimization, financial and marketing support, work/life integration for success and workplace engagement training.
